Youth & Children

BABYSITTING COURSE: This is an 8-hour course, with a qualified instructor, that is certified by St. John’s Ambulance.  Participants must be at least 10 years of age by the end of the course.  Please bring a doll or teddy bear that is a suitable size for practicing diapering.

BEGINNER SPANISH: This is an introductory Spanish course. Participants will be required to purchase any necessary materials for the class.

BLAST BALL: A very simple concept utilizing the skills of softball in a fun, fast-paced activity for young player.

DANCERSIZE: The kids learn the basics of dance in a fun, relaxed environment.

DODGEBALL: Playing dodgeball.  Supervised by parents on a rotating schedule.

DRAWING/CATOONING 101/ANIME: Learn the basics of drawing, cartooning and drawing anime. Some parent assistance with supervision may be required.

FLOOR HOCKEY: Playing floor hockey.

HIP HOP: Learn the newest hip hop moves.

JAZZ: Have fun and learn a few jazz dance moves.

KIDS CAN COOK: Boys and girls can learn how to cook. May be asked to bring containers to class to take food home. One adult to sign up for each class to help out. Sign-up sheet at registration night to indicate parent helper date and rate the registrant’s level of experience.  Please inform instructor of any food allergies and if you are interested in learning to make a particular recipe/dish.

KINDERSIZE PARENT & TOT: Activities to suit the active lifestyle of a 2 or 3 year old. With your child, experience fun through music, games, and run and tumble activities. An adult must accompany the child.

KINDERSIZE II: Designed for 3 to 5 year olds, this program will offer your child the opportunity to enjoy music, games, and run and tumble activities on their own.

LEARN TO SKATE: Learning how to skate. Open to all ages.

PARENT/CHILD YOGA: Introduces children (and their parents) to yoga, which can help calm minds and increase their strength and flexibility. Participants will need to bring their own yoga mat.

SPORTS ABC’s: An interactive class that introduces children to sports and basic games.

TAE KWON DO PRESCHOOL: An introduction to tae kwon do for preschoolers. Participants can take part on either or both Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Registration fee for one evening per week is $50.00. Registration fee for two evenings per week is $100.00.

ZUMBA: A fresh, fun workout that takes Latin and dance rhythms and fuses them into an exercise routine to tone up your body and make you feel great!


AEROBICS: Step to the beat of a fitter drummer. A one hour cardiovascular workout with your choice of high or low impact. One or two days /week. A great place to get together with friends and let off a little stress, get fit and have fun!

BEGINNER YOGA (Karen, Yuby or Wendy): Are you new to Yoga and want to work at your own pace? This introduction to yoga will teach you to calm your mind as you increase your strength and flexibility. This class will focus on the basic poses, breathing, stretching, flexibility and relaxation in a nonjudgmental and safe environment. You will need to bring your own yoga mat and any other props that you would like to use during the class.

BOOT CAMP (Shelley): An intermediate level class with minimal equipment that incorporates interval training, bodyweight exercises, plyometrics and schoolyard games to improve strength, endurance and power. Modifications provided for beginner or advanced participants, so really, ANYONE can do this class.

CARDIO YOGA (Kveta): This is a flow-style yoga class, with a fitness-based approach. Using Vinyasa (the connection of breath and movement), this program increases heart rate while strengthening and stretching muscles. Options will be given for all levels of students – both beginners and experienced students are welcome. Participants need to provide their own yoga mat.



CORE BODY (Brette): Offered to anyone interested in strengthening their midsection.  Can be modified to suit ability, strength and body type. Watch hands, wrists, arms and legs get stronger as we focus on stability, balance, twisting, side bending, abdominal work and back strengthening. Instructor will offer different levels of difficulty. Please bring you own yoga mat.

COUPLES INTRO TO BALLROOM DANCE: Couples 18+. This class is an introduction to ballroom dancing. The basic steps for fox trot, waltz, and jive and cha-cha may be covered. Street attire and comfortable non scuffing shoes.

FITNESS FUN FOR 50+ (Randi): The class will focus on both muscular endurance, and cardiovascular fitness in a comfortable social setting. Optional: exercise/resistance bands and yoga mat.

FLOW YOGA: (Brette): Beginner friendly. Bring a yoga mat and a smile! No experience necessary. Poses will progress as the session does.

GENTLE YOGA (Yuby): Finally, a class for those who are terrified, achy or who have difficulty moving in a regular exercise class. This introduction to yoga is done with a chair. All classes focus on breathing, strengthening and flexibility using Vinyasa techniques with a gentle knowledgeable instructor.

HULA HOOP PLAY (Katelynn): Hula-hooping is not just for kids anymore.  This style called ‘Hooping’ is the latest fitness and dance craze, burning up to 600 calories per hour, toning core muscles, and improving posture, balance and stability. In this introductory class, students will be provided with handcrafted hoops from Solstice Hoop Play that are specifically designed for adult beginners.  Hoop Play begins with foundational core hooping exercises and progresses into impressive dance moves and tricks. Class content will be adapted to suit all fitness levels, including those who have never been able to keep the hoop up. Please bring a yoga mat and water bottle.

KETTLE BELL/BODYWEIGHT FUSION (Shelley): Improve your strength, power and conditioning with minimal equipment! A mixture of kettle bell skill-building and high intensity circuit training that will challenge all fitness levels. Participants will be required to purchase their own kettle bell (approx $40-$50, depending on size). Instructor will provide assistance with purchase.

KICKBOXING(Alicia): This is a fat burning, tension releasing, combination boxing and martial arts workout! Channel your energy and frustration and learn new valuable skills. A great way to burn 600 calories/class and have fun. Become a Lean Mean Fighting Machine!



PILOXING(Rose): Piloxing uniquely mixes Pilates and boxing moves into a fat torching, muscle sculpting, core-centric interval workout. It blends the power and speed of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of pilates…adding to that some fun dance moves.  A program guaranteed to whip you into shape using a class format that is both fun and challenging.

STOTT INTERMEDIATE PILATES (Laura): Continues to work on core strength while increasing intensity of exercises. Introduces more difficult exercises while still improving posture, realignment of the spine, and overall toning.

STOTT INTRO PILATES (Laura):  Works on building core strength, improving posture, and realignment of the spine all while improving overall toning. A great class for all ages.


SPANISH CONVERSATIONAL:  An interactive class designed for those who are interested in travel and language acquisition.  Worksheets provided. A great way to work on your Español.

ZUMBA (Erin):  A Latin inspired fitness class that takes Latin, African, Reggaton and popular dance moves and fuses them into a great workout.  Zumba will help you tone up and feel grea tand you won’t even know you’re working out…it’s exercise in disguise. Ditch the workout, join the party!
