Holy Family Kindergarten Information Night Jan 18th

Thinking about Kindergarten for September 2017?

Holy Family is now accepting registrations for Kindergarten 2017-2018!  Children who will be five years old by January 31st, 2018 are eligible to start school next fall. We are a safe, friendly Catholic school that helps each of our students reach their full potential.  At Holy Family School we nurture faith, encourage excellence in learning and inspire students to serve others, so they can make the world around them a better place.  Our parent information evening will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 at 7PM.  This evening is intended for parents only and mostly for parents that are new to Holy Family School, but all are welcome!  Children will have an opportunity to come for a visit in June.  You can learn more about our school division at www.gscs.sk.ca.  We are rooted in faith, growing in knowledge, reaching out to transform the world!

Sept 7: WUHCA Annual General Meeting and Fall Registration Night

Join us September 7th, 2016 for 7pm at Willowgrove school. Our AGM will run first, with registration to follow. We need community members to attend the AGM as part of the rules for a non-profit organization. Also, we will need to fill positions for our executive board before we can start registration. Please consider volunteering, as our programming is not possible without our community coordinators.

The positions that we are looking to fill include:
Vice President,
Social Coordinator,
Soccer Coordinators for U6, U8 and U10,
Youth / Adult Programming Coordinator,
Assistant Treasurer,
Program Coordinator Assistant (booking),
Membership Coordinator,
Traffic Coordinator,
On-line registration Coordinator,
Ecole Mother Theressa Liasion, Centennial High School Liaison and St. Josephs High School Liaison.

In order for all our programs to run, we need volunteers to keep our community association programs and event going. At the AGM, the positions will be listed along with the duties that position requires. The community association meets one evening each month from September till June to discuss community events and programs. Without our volunteers, our programs would not be possible so we encourage you to help out where you can and be a part of our association. It is a great way to meet new friends and to be the first to know what is happening in our community. Sign up at our AGM and you can be the first in line to register in your program, this is just one of the perks of being part of the board. We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

Boil Water Advisory in Effect includes Willowgrove and University Heights

This is a message from the City of Saskatoon’s mass notification system, notifynow

(See the Willowgrove University Heights Community Association facebook page for more details and current updates)

Please be advised that neighborhoods located east of Central Avenue and north of College Drive are under a Drinking Water Advisory until further notice. An issue with the water distribution system occurred Monday morning that caused a portion of the system to de-pressurize. Please boil your water prior to drinking or ingesting, which includes brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, washing hands, and making ice.

Once all laboratory tests are complete, you will receive another notice indicating the Drinking Water Advisory is lifted and the water is safe to drink.

Water Outage service alerts will be issued with regular updates at saskatoon.ca/service-alerts or follow @YXEServiceAlert on Twitter. For more information, visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/services-residents/power-water/water-wastewater/drinking-water or call our customer service centre at 306-975-2476.

Thank you for your patience.

News Release

Land Development Project Affects Water Supply in City’s Northeast

For immediate release: June 27, 2016

Public Works and Saskatoon Water have been dealing with an urgent situation in the city’s northeast.

A contractor working on a private land development punctured a 42” Primary Water Main which resulted in significant depressurization in the neighbourhoods on the east side of the river, north of College Drive and east of Central Ave.

West side neighbourhoods are not affected.

The break was isolated at 1:15 p.m. and water service and pressure is currently returning to normal. In the meantime, and as safeguard, a Drinking Water Advisory is in effect for the above mentioned areas.

Right now, City staff are checking the system and conducting water quality tests. In addition, Saskatoon Water is performing computer modelling to determine the extent of the area affected.

NotifyNow will be used to advise affected customers and citizens of the DWA and where to find further information.

Water Outage service alerts will be issued as more information becomes available. Visitsaskatoon.ca/service-alerts and follow @YXEServiceAlert on Twitter.
