Warning – Coyotes Spotted in Wallace Park

Saskatoon Police Service – News Release #2013-0132 – Public Advisory – City Wildlife Sightings – What To Do

Saskatoon Police are again reminding concerned residents what to do in the event of a coyote sighting within the City.

Although there have been no reported physical encounters, Police and City officials are reminding people to keep their distance from coyotes and all wildlife as they can be unpredictable when confronted. In most cases, coyotes and other wildlife are harmless and will move along.

Here is what to do if you have a close encounter with a coyote: -Never approach the animal -Look for, and keep an eye on, a way out -Make some noise so it maintains a healthy respect for humans -Back away, do not turn your back or run

If you have any questions or concerns, or wish to report a coyote or wildlife sighting, please contact City of Saskatoon Parks Pest Management at 975-3300.

Residents are asked to only contact Saskatoon Police at 975-8300 in instances where wildlife appears to be injured or acting in a manner dangerous to the public.
